　　justification所表示的"理由"的内涵是"正当"或辩解

　　competent 指具有"胜任某一工作的条件"， 强调对某项工作有足够的技能及其它所需条件， 如：

　　He is a competent， but not a brilliant musician.

　　而 qualified指具有"做某工作的必需条件"、"合格的"， 所表示的能力则更有"保留(最低限度)"的意思， 如：

　　sure强调"主观上确信无疑的"， 如：

　　confident 强调"对某人[物]坚信的或满怀信心的"， 如：

　　happen为常用词语， 指"一切客观事物或情况的偶然或未能预见地发生"， 如：

　　The accident happened yesterday.

　　事故发生在昨天。

　　chance 指"偶然发生"、"碰巧"， 如：

　　He chanced to meet her.

　　他偶然遇见了她。

　　occur属正式用语， 指"按计划使某事或效果发生"， 通常所指的时间和事件都比较确定， 在以具体事物、事件作主语时， 可与happen 互换， 如：

　　These events occurred in 1909.

　　这些事件发生于1909年。

　　take place 指"发生事先计划或预想到的事物"， 如：

　　The meeting took place at 8：00 as planned.

　　按计划会议在八点举行了。

　　random，haphazard，chance，casual这组形容词的一般含义是"偶然的"、"无目的的".

　　random强调某事不是按计划发生的，或者某事的发生不是有确当的思维活动所促成的
